Möbius (Moebius) Syndrome Awareness

In January, we dedicated a portion of our Sunday Worship Service to celebrated Möbius Syndrome Awareness Day.  We showed our support to Brother Eric Collins’ daughter, Leah, by wear something purple that day.  We also made a donation to the Möbius Syndrome Foundation in Leah’s name.  If you would like to know more about Möbius Syndrome, check out this link: https://moebiussyndrome.org.

COVID-19 Frontline Appreciation

We showed our appreciation to Dr. Girish Sharma and his staff for their continued service during the COVID-19 pandemic.  We provided our Vernon neighbors with a basket of treats to enjoy.

Community Day/Back to School Giveaway

Annually in August, we host a community cookout and give away free backpacks and school supplies to Vernon area children.  Our donors help to make this possible.

The Cornerstone Foundation

We support the Cornerstone Foundation, a faith ministry that provides help to the Vernon-Rockville community. They operate a soup kitchen, two shelters, a food pantry, clothing bank, and youth/outreach center.

Our contributions to the Cornerstone Foundation Soup Kitchen include:

      • Donating frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving meals
      • Donating canned goods, and bottles of ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard for their Christmas celebration
      • Serving food to soup kitchen patrons on Christmas Day
      • Donating bread, cheese, cold cuts and packets of mayonnaise and mustard during COVID-19 pandemic

Guyana Praise Mission

We support the Guyana Praise Mission in Guyana, South America, which has been in operation for thirty years.  They currently have responsibility for three churches, two daycare centers, weekly Bible Clubs and Sunday Schools.  We’ve collected baby wipes, children’s footwear, Christian coloring books, crayons, markers, and pencils for their daycare, Bible Club and Sunday School children.  In December 2019, we shipped a barrel to them with the collected items.

In early 2020, we assisted the Guyana Praise Mission in raising funds for a new semi-permanent structure.  This structure will replace their existing tent that’s been patched several times due to age and vandalism.

In 2021, we purchased a keyboard for them to use in their worship services.
