Winter Coat Drive & Giveaway

We collected over 105 mostly winter coats to giveaway to the Vernon Community.  We held two coat giveaways in October and November.  The coats that remained,  we donated to two Hartford shelters, South Park Inn and My Sister’s Place.  A special thanks to TCC Cares and our community partners, Hour Glass Cleaners, Swiss Cleaners, Battiston’s Cleaners, and Ace Cleaners, who helped to make the coat drive and giveaway possible.

Guyana Praise Mission

We support the Guyana Praise Mission in Guyana, South America, which has been in operation for thirty years.  They currently have responsibility for three churches, two daycare centers, weekly Bible Clubs and Sunday Schools.  We’ve collected baby wipes, children’s footwear, Christian coloring books, crayons, markers, and pencils for their daycare, Bible Club and Sunday School children.  In December 2019, we shipped a barrel to them with the collected items.

In early 2020, we assisted the Guyana Praise Mission in raising funds for a new semi-permanent structure.  This structure will replace their existing tent that’s been patched several times due to age and vandalism.

In 2021, we purchased a keyboard for them to use in their worship services.
