COVID-19 Heroes

This year has not turned out the way many of us expected.  For example, we have been quarantine, required to wear masks in public, experienced shortages of toilet paper and hand sanitizer, and may even have lost loved ones.  Some have been fortunate to work remotely from home.  While others could not work from home due to the nature of their jobs.

The essential workers: nurses, doctors, hospital workers, EMT’s, etc. risk their lives for us daily.  For example, they care for us to ensure that we, and those potentially infected with the coronavirus, have a fighting chance to live.  People across the county and the world have recognized their sacrifices and shown their thanks in various ways.

Likewise, the Spirit & Truth Apostolic Church members wanted to show our appreciation for these COVID-19 heroes.  During the month of May, we chose to honor those on the frontlines of this fight in our Vernon/Rockville community.

So, we made treat baskets for the Rockville General Hospital’s Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, and Dr. Girish Sharma’s medical office.

Additionally, we donated food items to the Corner Foundation Soup Kitchen, to continue to feed those in need during the pandemic.  These are just a few of the ways we gladly serve our community.  Please visit our Outreach page for more details.
